Why Sheep Jewellery?
So people always ask how I started making sheep jewellery.
Well growing up in the countryside I was surrounded by fields of sheep and have always had a fascination with these animals. My love of sheep was also cemented with the Aardman 'Shaun the Sheep' animations. I even had a Shaun backpack!!
There is something about the curls of a Suffolk sheep fleece being so different in colour with their faces and legs that caught my attention.
As an established jewellery maker, back in 2011 I was asked to exhibit some jewellery at a local exhibition. That's when I decided to try out making sheep and displayed a range of sheep brooches. They were so well received I turned the little brooches into my Fresh Fleeces business!
The range has grown over the years and I have introduced new breeds and styles to the flock. So hands up...who else had a Shaun the Sheep backpack!!
